Covid-19

When hiring with us your safety is our number one priority. This means we will work hard to make sure you feel safe and secure when we hand over the camper and for the duration of your trip. 

We have implemented the following procedures which we will continue to update and review in line with government guidance in order to keep you as safe as possible.

Self-contained

The great news is that as self-contained holiday accommodation is allowed to open up from April 12th. In order to qualify as self-contained the camper will be equipped with a portable loo and loo-tent free of charge between April 12th and May 17th. We are also reducing the minimum hire period from 3 to 2 days during this time.

Additional cleaning policy

On-top of our usual rigorous cleaning which we undertake in-between each rental we have included some additional steps to combat viruses including:

  • Use of anti-viral cleaner complying with EN14476 standards

  • Enhanced cleaning of frequently touched surfaces

  • Enhanced cleaning of all kitchen equipment and surfaces

  • Ventilation of the camper and anti-viral aerosol used between hires

Collection 

On your arrival the camper will be cleaned and ventilated. During the vehicle handover Chiltern Campers staff will be wearing face masks and you are invited to do the same at your discretion. Social distancing will be maintained and where it is impossible to maintain masks will be worn. We will provide you with information about the camper prior to arrival to minimise the handover time.

Return

On your return please remain with he vehicle and follow the instructions provided to you so we can safety hand the vehicle back over. We will conduct a brief inspection of the vehicle maintaining social distancing, once again we will be wearing face coverings and you are invited to at your discretion. Once you have left we will conduct a more thorough inspection of the vehicle.

Cancellation

Our full cancelation policy can be found in our Terms and Conditions. We have amended our terms to allow flexibility should you not be able to make your booking because of new government restrictions.

In the event that your hire cannot proceed because of legal government restrictions such as a local or national lockdown where overnight stays away from your primary residence are not permitted then we will offer a change of date where the full value of your booking can be transferred to a new date. If preferred alternative dates are not yet known then we will issue a gift voucher code to the full value paid that will have no expiry date on use or restriction on use so that you can rebook your trip at your leisure. 

If you are unable to travel due to becoming sick or having to self-isolate before your holiday, any monies that you have paid at that time will be non-refundable. You are strongly advised to take out travel insurance to cover your personal effects and last-minute cancellations. Please make sure you check the policy to ensure you have sufficient cover for your own circumstances.
